Can One Digital Signature Certificate Be Used for Multiple Email Addresses?
In most cases, no. A Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) is issued after verifying the identity of an individual or organization. The certificate contains verified information such as the certificate holder's name, public key, certificate serial number, issuing Certifying Authority (CA), validity period, and, depending on the certificate profile, an email address. Once issued, these certificate details cannot be edited.
Why Can't One DSC Be Linked to Multiple Email Addresses?
A Digital Signature Certificate is designed to establish trust in a verified identity—not to manage multiple email accounts. During certificate issuance, the Certifying Authority validates the applicant's identity and embeds the approved certificate information into the DSC.
Because the certificate is digitally signed by the issuing CA, its contents become tamper-proof. Any change to the certificate, including identity information where applicable, would invalidate the certificate and require a new one to be issued.
What If You Use More Than One Email Address?

A Digital Signature Certificate identifies a verified person or organization—not an email account. Owning multiple email addresses does not automatically require multiple DSCs.
