ProxKey Installation on Mac – Driver Download & Setup Guide

ProxKey USB tokens are widely used for storing Digital Signature Certificates (DSC) required for secure authentication on platforms like GST, Income Tax, MCA, and eTender portals.

With improved compatibility, ProxKey tokens now support macOS, including newer versions like Ventura. This guide provides a complete step-by-step process to install and use the ProxKey driver on Mac.

How to Install ProxKey Driver on Mac

Step 1: Run the Installer

  • Locate the downloaded file
  • Double-click on: ProxKey_Mac.pkg

 

Step 2: Start Installation

  • Click Install to begin
  • Follow the on-screen instructions

 

Step 3: Allow Installation in Security Settings

  • Go to System Settings → Security & Privacy
  • Click Open Anyway under blocked app message
  • Enter your Mac password
  • Click Run to continue

 

Step 4: Continue Setup

  • Click Continue on the installer screens
  • Complete the installation process

 

Step 5: Launch ProxKey Token Tool

  • Use Spotlight Search and type ProxKey
    OR
  • Navigate via Finder to locate the installed application
  • Open ProxKey Token Tool

 

How to Login & Use ProxKey Token

  1. Insert your ProxKey USB token
  2. Open ProxKey Token Tool
  3. Enter your Token PIN
  4. Click Login
  5. Once logged in, your DSC will be accessible for signing

 

Troubleshooting Common Issues

Token Tool Not Opening

  • Ensure installation is completed successfully
  • Allow app permissions in Security settings

Login Option Not Visible

  • Install Java (JRE) on your Mac
  • Restart the system after Java installation

Token Not Detected

  • Reinsert the USB token
  • Try a different USB port or adapter
  • Restart your Mac

Installation Blocked

  • Go to Privacy & Security settings
  • Click Allow Anyway for the blocked installer
